We denounce the military aggression against Iran as yet another chapter in the criminal history of U.S. imperialism. This is not the war of a single president, nor is it a diplomatic miscalculation; it is a State project carried out with the same ruthlessness by LBJ, Nixon, Reagan, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump alike. The bombing, the looting of resources, and the utter contempt for human life are the permanent tools Washington uses to sustain its global hegemony. We reject this intervention on inalienable principles: imperialism has no right to decide the destiny of any nation. Our opposition is absolute and is not negotiable; even if the empire sought to buy our conscience with the greatest luxuries—with silk sheets and every need met—this war would remain an intolerable crime. We do not accept crumbs from global plunder in exchange for our silence while the rights of other peoples are annihilated.
At the same time, our struggle does not grant a single ounce of political support to the Ayatollahs’ regime. We do not defend a theocratic, capitalist State that exploits its workers, oppresses women, and crushes strikes. We understand that the Iranian theocracy fears an internal workers’ revolution more than it fears foreign missiles. In reality, we are facing two sides of the same global capitalist system, which today reveals its cruelest faces: in Iran, in the form of a clerical dictatorship using religion to chain its people; and in the West, in the form of a genocidal war machine that, in alliance with the Zionist State of Israel, razes entire regions to sustain its markets. This societal system fails to provide any prospect for the future and endures solely via suffering, oppression, and death.
Therefore, the only real way out is the independent action of the global working class to sweep away this system and take control of the planet. Here lies the core of our responsibility: as inhabitants of the heart of the empire, we are not mere spectators; we are unwillingly the engine that sustains the machinery of death. We call upon all American workers to open their eyes and recognize in the exploited people of Iran their own class brothers and sisters. It is time to shake off the dust of indifference, break the inertia of comfort, and abandon the pusillanimity of those who remain silent in the face of horror. However, our isolated indignation is not enough; the strength of our class lies in its capacity to stop the world and reorganize it. The historical obligation to defuse the bomb falls upon those of us inside the beast: we call for the creation of action committees in every workplace and place of study to take the war machinery in our own hands and destroy it from within.
- Immediate halt to all military aid to Israel! Not a single cent more for the executioner of genocide and occupation.
- For the unilateral disarmament of the United States! Total dismantling of the military industry and its global bases. They have no right to exist.
- Workers’ control over international decisions! Let the workers decide in their rank-and-file organizations, not the butchers at the Pentagon.
- General Strike to stop the war machinery! If the hands that produce stop, the war stops.
- For the socialist revolution in the U.S.! To destroy the system that generates massacre and build a world that is just, equitable, ecological, and at peace.
