GENERAL STRIKE TO STOP BARBARISM!
This May Day finds us in a situation of dire emergency

Immigrants in the U.S. face mass persecution, including imprisonment and arbitrary deportations without due process. The world is in a seemingly permanent state of war amidst a climate crisis pushing us toward extinction, driven by the U.S. ruling class. Marches are no longer enough. This historic moment demands far more radical and decisive solutions.
May Day was born in the blood of the Martyrs of Chicago. In early May, 1886, thousands of workers rose up to demand the eight-hour workday. Bosses and state repression massacred them; eight leaders were convicted in a sham trial and five were executed or died in prison. Every year since, we workers commemorate their sacrifice and recognize again that rights are only won through struggle and organization.
In the United States, this date was erased from the calendar. The great national strike of immigrant workers in 2006 brought it back to the streets, showing that the combative unity of workers is the only force capable of confronting capitalist exploitation.
Today, the persecution of immigrants has reached an unprecedented level of barbarism. Since January 2025, the imperialist state has unleashed a policy of terror that divides and represses the entire working class.
We demand now!
Stop the detentions!
Immediate release of all immigrants in custody
Papers for All!
Abolition of ICE!
Imperialist aggressions are the bloodiest face of capitalism in decay. We denounce U.S. foreign policy that allocates billions of dollars to bomb peoples, arm the Zionist state against Palestine, and strangle Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran with blockades and sanctions.
What the hell is U.S. imperialism doing intervening in and destroying other countries? The military industry must be dismantled NOW, completely and without excuses. That death machine must disappear forever.
THE BOMBING OF ANOTHER COUNTRY IS CATEGORICALLY UNJUSTIFIABLE, REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES OR ANY PRIOR ACTIONS.
The environmental crisis is inherent to capitalism. The unrestrained exploitation of nature generates an unprecedented climate exile, with droughts and polluting industries driving entire communities from their lands.
We demand the immediate closure of the oil companies, an end to capitalist destruction of the planet, and full admission and support for climate refugees as historical reparations for the plunder by transnational big capital.
THE ROLE OF UNIONS TODAY!
Some unions, like UAW 2320 – Legal Assistance to the Elderly, have shown real courage: they led the strike on October 24, 2025 against ICE raids, and they have announced they will be closed on May 1st.
However, the majority of the big unions and especially the San Francisco Labor Council have responded with bureaucratic cowardice:
“No we can’t,” “It’s illegal,” “We’re not going to do it.”
Enough with the excuses and betrayal! All unions must immediately break with their fearful and lukewarm politics — only concerned with their bread-and-butter issues — and put themselves at the service of this historic need by calling for a General Strike.
We, the workers of the United States, are the ones who have the real power to stop this barbarism! Only a GENERAL STRIKE can stop the persecution and deportation of immigrants, halt the war machine against Palestine, Iran, Venezuela and Cuba, and end the environmental destruction that is killing the planet.
Of the three calls in San Francisco, only the Independent Unionists for Union Democracy and the General Strike openly raise the call for a General Strike. Let’s support them strongly and pressure Bay Area Resistance and the Labor Council to join!

WE INVITE YOU TO CONTACT US!
Let’s build a militant and independent movement that does not kneel before the Democratic and Republican bourgeois parties and fights for full social and labor rights for all workers, without distinction of immigration status, against war and against environmental destruction.
We want to talk with you and figure out together how we can work on these tasks and strengthen solidarity among workers in the United States and the world.
See you this May 1st in the streets of San Francisco!
