ICE Out of Bay!

Stop Trump’s Repressive Escalation!

National Guard Out of Our Cities!

National General Strike Now!

Today, as we celebrate workers’ contributions to the United States, our communities are under attack. ICE, supported by other federal and local agencies, is snatching up undocumented immigrants and their families and deporting them to jails and prisons in countries that they have never been to.

And there is much more to come. ICE has established an arbitrary goal of 3,000 arrests per day without consideration of the economic and social impact of such oppression. They plan to escalate their intervention in large cities, mobilizing the National Guard to protect their operations against protests. Meanwhile, the Trump Administration seeks to triple ICE’s detention capacity.

In recent months, ICE has dramatically intensified indiscriminate arrests in the San Francisco Bay Area. They are raiding workplaces and pursuing our comrades and neighbors in the courts and in the streets. Masked federal agents without identification have used tear gas and pepper spray against protesters to smash the community’s resistance against them.

We should not expect the Democratic Party to intervene against ICE and their ilk. The Trump Administration’s persecution of people who are already super-oppressed is only the application of policies and procedures developed over the last forty years whether the Democrats were in power or not.

This Labor Day, we salute the hundreds of defenders in the Bay Area who have responded to these attacks, blocking ICE vans and confronting federal police forces. We call on all workers to demand that their unions adopt a policy of unconditional solidarity with the immigrant workers under attack and respond with militant actions, calling together, with all oppressed communities, for a National General Strike. Only organized workers have the strength to stop these attacks—let’s use that strength now!

1.  The FBI, the DEA, and Homeland Security Investigations, as well as local police forces and sheriffs’ offices, all participate in this oppression.
