Del 30 de agosto al 1 de septiembre de 2024, una coalición de organizaciones nominalmente socialistas, que incluía desde Haymarket Books hasta los Socialistas Democráticos de América (DSA), organizó Socialismo 2024 en el Hyatt Regency McCormick Place en Chicago, Illinois. Como una nueva organización revolucionaria, asistimos a esta conferencia como una oportunidad para evaluar el estado de la izquierda revolucionaria en los Estados Unidos. Aprendimos mucho.

From August 30 through September 1, 2024, a coalition of nominally socialist organizations, ranging from Haymarket Books to Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), hosted Socialism 2024 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. As a new revolutionary organization, we attended this conference as an opportunity to assess the state of the revolutionary left in the United States. We learned a lot.

Knowing that DSA had an important role in determining the political character of the conference, and that the DSA tends to support candidates of the Democratic Party, we prepared a leaflet expressing our position on the 2024 Presidential Election in the United States, urging socialists and revolutionary Marxists to not vote for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and to instead consider one of three independent left candidates running against her. The leaflet also included a QR link to our newly published draft program. The leaflet included an invitation to join us for coffee at a coffee shop at the hotel between 8am and 9am each day of the conference.

November 3rd, 2024, Update: Socialists Without Borders has withdrawn its support for the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSOL) candidates, as the organization has decided to back Democrats in the San Francisco local elections. These Democratic Party candidates are actively campaigning for Kamala Harris.

We remember Kamala Harris as a career prosecutor who enthusiastically contributed to the mass incarceration epidemic in California, first as the District Attorney for San Francisco, then as the Attorney General for the State of California. We remember not too long ago, Kamala on the radio joking about the cannabis she has enjoyed smoking in the past after putting hundreds if not thousands of people in jail for cannabis-related offenses. We also remember her as the person who was supposed to address former President Trump’s draconian immigration policies – themselves continuations of former President Obama’s policies – and then oversaw the continuation of the same policies as before.

This struggle extends to every country in the world. We fight to totally dismantle the global capitalist-imperialist economic and social system that is the world and its people. Celebramos las actividades organizadas por A15. Activistas en ciudades de todo el mundo coordinaron acciones para interrumpir la actividad económica en apoyo al pueblo palestino actualmente bajo un asedio mortal por parte del Estado de Israel. Estas acciones, aunque pequeñas, estaban bien coordinadas y recibieron mucha atención. La próxima movilización será el Día Internacional de los Trabajadores, el 1 de mayo de 2024, un día de acciones internacionales coordinadas nuevamente con el objetivo de interrumpir la actividad económica con el fin de terminar con la ocupación del Estado de Israel en Palestina.

We commend the activities organized by A15. Activists in cities all over the world coordinated action to disrupt economic activity in support of the Palestinian people currently under a murderous siege by the State of Israel. These actions, while small, were well coordinated and received a lot of attention. The next mobilization will be on International Workers’ Day, May 1, 2024, one day of coordinated international actions again aiming to disrupt economic activity with the goal of ending the State of Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

Desde el 7 de octubre de 2023, las Fuerzas Israelíes de Ocupación financiadas por los Estados Unidos han masacrado a más de 30,000 palestinos en Gaza. El número real de muertos y heridos es seguramente mucho más alto, y el número de víctimas aumenta cada hora. Al momento de escribir esto, más de un millón de palestinos están acorralados en Rafah, con las Fuerzas Israelíes de Ocupación esperado para intensificar su campaña de bombardeos asesinos con una invasión terrestre igualmente letal que multiplicará el número de muertos, heridos o expulsados. Aquellos que queden estarán sujetos a la hambruna y a las enfermedades generadas por el corte de suministro de provisiones, de agua y combustible durante los últimos cinco meses.
