Socialists Without Borders unequivocally condemns the reckless and imperialist U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan on June 21, 2025. These strikes, executed with B-2 stealth bombers and GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs, were coordinated with Israel’s ongoing aggression. Ordered by President Trump, these attacks mark a dangerous escalation in the Middle East. The U.S. military aggression blindsided even the European imperialist powers and signals to the world that the Trump administration is willing to shift tactics at any moment, launching direct military confrontations against any who resist its arbitrary demands, whether internationally or domestically, as seen in Trump’s previous deployment of Marines on U.S. soil.
The Democratic Party, for its part, is in disarray. Its so-called progressive wing, including AOC and others, has voiced opposition to the current U.S. involvement. However, their credibility is deeply compromised by their relative silence during the Biden administration’s unapologetic support for the ongoing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
The U.S. strikes on Iran are only one flashpoint within an increasingly unstable network of inter-imperialist conflicts. Another major front remains the war in Ukraine, where the U.S. and European powers have escalated their involvement by authorizing Ukraine to use Western-supplied weapons to strike deeper into Russian territory. These wars serve as testing grounds for the latest weapons technologies, including the expanding use of artificial intelligence on the battlefield. Trump’s demand for Iran to “make peace” or face “tragedy” threatens further imperialist violence.
The imperialist powers remain more committed to replaying the vicious geopolitical conflicts of the past than to addressing the growing existential threats posed by climate collapse. The world faces an unprecedented ecological catastrophe, including mass extinctions, disruptions in global food production and supply chains, and the increasing uninhabitability of entire regions, particularly in the Global South.
Socialists Without Borders holds no illusions that the international capitalist class will solve any of these urgent crises. Only the organized power of the global working class can stop this accelerating march toward ecological and human catastrophe.
Socialists Without Borders calls on workers, communities, and activists worldwide to oppose military aggression and build a revolutionary international movement in solidarity with oppressed peoples everywhere.
War diverts resources from urgent global challenges like climate change, which threaten ecosystems and human survival. We urge the international community to reject war, prioritize solidarity, and work towards a sustainable and just future.
General strike to stop the war in Iran, the military aid to Israel, and deportations.
