Our organization, Socialists Without Borders, recognizes and applauds the efforts of those who initiated this call and of everyone here today.
Our organization is committed to continuing participation in all actions driven by the community, grassroots organizations, and political groups, not only in defense of immigrant communities but also in defense of the environment, workers’ rights, and against U.S. imperialist interventions anywhere in the world, including opposition to its military support for violent and genocidal actions, such as its backing of the Zionist state of Israel.
Our organization will also advocate for democratic and transparent forms of participation for those most affected in these struggles. We aim to create spaces where decisions about the programs of these movements are made through voting by all participants, and where plans for communicating these decisions to the wider community—including naming the organizations behind each action—are established. Similarly, we will call for evaluation meetings where everyone interested can freely participate.
If you agree with this approach, if you also want to have a voice and a vote in decisions about any proposed action, if you want to clearly state that you have no trust in the Democratic Party, its grassroots organizations, churches, or organizations funded to “defend” us and “protect our interests,” if you believe we must build an organization that is unafraid to speak up and mobilize the community to exercise its right to discuss, propose, and decide—rather than simply show up—then we invite you to join Socialists Without Borders.
Socialists Without Borders is a socialist, environmentalist, anti-capitalist, and anti-patriarchal organization that defends the self-determination of peoples and combats imperialist intervention in any corner of the planet.
